Transfer
Between Terminals
Terminals 1, 2 and 3 are within walking distance of
each other, via underground walkways. Transfer between
Terminals 1, 2 and 3, and Terminals 4 (journey time
- 8 minutes) and 5 (journey time - 12 minutes), which
are located on the south and west sides of the airport
respectively, is free on the Heathrow Express train.
Facilities
Information
and Help Desks
Information
desks are available in each terminal. Transport information
desks, for bus, coach and rail options, are located
in Terminals 1 and 3, and outside Terminal 4. The
Hotel and Traveller Centre, in Terminal 3, provides
visitor information, London Underground tickets and
hotel accommodation. Help desks are also located throughout
the airport, where passengers can seek assistance
by using a courtesy telephone and can also look at
terminal maps.
Airport
Facilities
Money and communications: There are ATMs and bureaux
de change facilities throughout the airport, as well
as post offices in Terminals 2 and 4. There are public
telephones in the main areas of each terminal, as
well as wall-mounted pay fax machines. Wireless Internet
access is available in the Departures lounges of all
terminals.
Eating
and drinking: There are numerous restaurants, bars,
fast-food outlets, coffee shops, pubs and sandwich
bars throughout the airport.
Shopping: There are a wide variety of shops in each
terminal including music shops, bookshops, newsagents,
clothing accessories shops, electrical goods shops,
pharmacies, sunglasses shops, shoe shops, sweet shops
and perfumeries. There are chemists in all terminals;
the Terminal 1 chemist dispenses prescriptions.
Luggage: Left-luggage offices can be found in each
terminal, whilst lost property can be reclaimed from
the Airport Lost Property Office (tel: (020) 8745
7727).
Other facilities: These include a chapel, showers,
a visitor centre (tel: (020) 8745 6655) and a health
centre (tel: (020) 8745 7047).
Conference
and Business Facilities
The Travelex Business Centre, in the Queen’s
Building between terminals 1 and 2 (tel: (020) 8759
2434; www.travelex.co.uk) offers 19 meeting rooms,
a conference suite seating up to 60 delegates, meeting
refreshments and business support facilities including
workstations, online computers, faxes, photocopiers,
videoconferencing and audiovisual equipment. Showers
are also available. There are several airline, business
and executive lounges in all terminals.
Facilities
for Disabled Travellers
Information for passengers with disabilities is available
from Heathrow Travel-Care either at counters or by
telephone (tel: (020) 8745 7495). Detailed access
information is also available on the airport’s
website. There is a Minicom information line for the
hard of hearing (tel: (020) 8745 7950), wheelchair-accessible
telephones and text telephones, as well as induction
loops. Reserved seating and disabled toilets are also
available in all terminals. Wheelchairs push and provision,
and help with baggage from Departures to check-in,
are available free of charge and can be pre-booked
through Skycaps (tel: (020) 8745 6011/5727). Assistance
is also available by using the telephones at the various
help points situated throughout the airport. Passengers
requiring wheelchairs and special assistance should
also contact the individual airlines prior to travel.
The Help Bus (tel: (020) 8745 6261) is a free wheelchair-accessible
bus service that operated between all terminals and
the central bus station. Disabled parking is also
available. The Heathrow Express, black taxis and many
bus and coach routes provide facilities for wheelchairs.

Terminal
1 is home to all Heathrow's domestic flights, as well
as some European and long-haul destinations. 15 airlines
operate from Terminal 1, carrying over 25 million
passengers each year.
Check-In
and Flight Departures for domestic
destinations operate from the first floor of Terminal
1, on the left of the concourse. Flight information
is displayed on monitors at the entrance of the terminal
and check-in zones are clearly signposted. Check-in
desks for international flights are located in the
middle and on the right of the concourse. Flight Arrivals
are located on the ground floor for international
passengers and on the first floor for those arriving
from the UK, Republic of Ireland and the Channel Islands.

Terminal
2 was Heathrow's first terminal. Opened in 1955, it
was originally named the Europa Building. 30 airlines
operate from this terminal carrying over 8.5 million
passengers every year. There are some long-haul flights
operating from Terminal 2 although most are for European
destinations.

3 mainly deals with long-haul flights for US, South
America, and Asia. There is also a number of African
and Australasian airlines operating from Terminal

The terminals are close together at the centre of
the airport site. Exit the M4 at junction 4 or the
M25 at junction 15 and follow signs for Heathrow Terminals
1, 2 and 3.

Terminal 4
The terminal is in the southern part of the airport
site and has a separate entrance. Exit the M25 at
junction 14 and follow signs for Heathrow Terminal
4. If you're coming from the M4, leave at junction
4b and follow the M25 south to junction 14.

Terminal
4 opened in 1986; it houses 11 airlines and handles
approximately 14.2 million passengers each year. The
flights operating from Terminal 4 are mainly for long-haul
and European destinations, with British Airways and
KLM being the major airlines flying from this terminal.
Checking
In
Check-In
is located on the first floor of the terminal, along
with Flight Departures. The roof of Terminal 4's short
term car park is on the same level giving passengers
direct access. Flight Arrivals are located on the
ground floor.

Terminal
5
The terminal is on the Western Perimeter Road and
has its own separate access road, reached from junction
14 of the M25. If you're coming from the M4, exit
at junction 4b and follow the M25 south to junction
14.
Terminal
5 is Heathrow Airport’s newest terminal. Used
exclusively by British Airways, Terminal 5 is a state
of the art building - the largest free-standing building
in the UK. The glass and steel structure gives a feeling
of space and significantly increases the building’s
energy efficiency.
There
six areas with internet kiosks:
Two in the check-in area, at Caffe Nero and Lovejuice.
Three in departures after security (one in Bagel Street
and one each in the main squares).
One in satellite Terminal 5B.
Wireless hotspots are available throughout Terminal
5.
Terminal has ATM's airside and landside.
Baby changing facilities located adjacent to toilets
airside and landside.
Dedicated information zone on the arrivals concourse
on the ground floor towards the north end of the building
while help points are dotted around the terminal.
Left baggage office is in the check-in area on the
top floor and can hold luggage for up to 90 days.
There are no shower facilities in the terminal other
than those provide in some lounges.
All faith Prayer room in the check-in area before
security control, at the north end of the building.
Also some after security near Gate 7 in the departure
area, and in satellite Terminal 5B.

Heathrow
has two parallel main runways running east-west and
five terminals. The site covers 12.14 square kilometres
(4.69 square miles). Terminal 5 was officially opened
by Queen Elizabeth II on 14 March 2008 and opened
to passengers on 27 March 2008.
