Edinburgh Airport (EDI) is the principal international gateway to Scotland's historic capital city and the border region of southern Scotland. Around eight million passengers travel through Edinburgh Airport via 35 airlines each year, flying between over 60 destinations worldwide.

Edinburgh International Airport is conveniently located 8 miles (12 kilometres) west of Edinburgh, with fast transport links to the city centre and to Scotland's second largest city, Glasgow. Currently, buses connect to Edinburgh's main train stations at Waverley and Haymarket, though construction of a new Edinburgh Airport Rail Link from 2007 would connect the airport to stations throughout Scotland, along with tram services.

There are reserved seating areas throughout Edinburgh airport, where special needs passengers are given priority. These areas have a range of facilities for passengers with disabilities.
