Cologne is a European
motorway network hub and the city is encircled by a closed
motorway ring. The airport itself was designed as a drive-in
airport, and a motorway spur (from Autobahn A59) runs right
up to the terminals, linking Cologne/Bonn directly with the
German motorway network and Europe.

Cologne/Bonn Airport
is an international airport located in the district of Porz
in the city of Cologne, Germany, and is surrounded by the
Wahner Heide nature reserve. The airport is centrally located
in the Cologne/Bonn Region 14.8 km (9.2 mi) southeast[1] of
Cologne city centre and 16 km (9.9 mi) northeast of Bonn.
It is the sixth largest airport in Germany and one of the
country's few 24-hour airports. In terms of cargo flights
it is second. The number of passengers in 2010 was 9.85 million,
a 1 percent increase to 2009.

The airport is
easily accessable to disabled travellers, airport toilets
are wheelchair-accessible and are located on the Arrivals
level near lift 2 in Area B and near lift 5 in Area C. There
are telephones for wheelchair users located in the airport
hotel. A lift for wheelchairs is located in Terminal 1 between
Entrances B and C. Parking spaces reserved for disabled passengers
are situated in car park P2 on level 4, and in car park P3
on level 1; parking is free of charge for passengers who can't
walk if they display a valid disabled badge.
